There is nothing in this world as special as a child.

More than anything else, Joy of Living wants children to experience the
love and joy found in Jesus Christ and to help each child realize his or her potential.

Joy of Living provides, at little or no cost, summer camping opportunities to disadvantaged or at-risk children (ages 8-12) and youth (ages 13-15). These are kids that would not normally have the opportunity to attend Summer Camp. Anywhere from 130 to 160 campers attend Joy of Living each summer. Camp is held Monday through Friday for six weeks during the summer. Sharing the good news of God’s love through His Son Jesus Christ is at the very heart of our ministry.

Canoeing, tubing, archery, low ropes course, challenge course, obstacle course, hiking, “sleeping under the stars”, outdoor cooking, crafts, river exploration, orienteering, mudding, fire building, basketball, volleyball, horseback riding, and games are all part of the Joy of Living Summer Camp experience.

Campers belong to a cabin unit and learn community and responsibility throughout the week.  Each day devotions and chapel time provide music, skits and inspiring messages that bring hope to each child.

Scholarship Information

The full cost for one week of camp is about $360.00 per child. Joy of Living's goal is to help every child have the opportunity of a Christian camp experience, no matter what economic restrictions a family may have.  Here's how the cost is covered:

  1. Families are required to pay a $30 registration fee for each child. This fee is non-refundable, nor is it eligible for scholarship assistance.
  2. Families are asked to pay whatever they are able to afford to the remaining balance of $330.00. Every dollar contributed is a dollar we are able to use to help another child come to camp.
  3. If, after paying the registration fee and contributing toward the balance, a family requires scholarship assistance, they are asked to complete the "Scholarship Request" form.  There is a link to that form on the next page, and families are automatically directed to that page when they submit a registration form.
